I made a start at 9am today and was surprised that my
legs were not aching at all after yesterdays journey. The majority of todays
journey saw me on the A38 once I’d reached Taunton. I was not looking
forward to navigating through Bristol as the directions looked quite
complicated however, it proved to be fairly easy. I cycled past the home of
Bristol City F C which woke the memory of visiting there many years ago to
watch Walsall beat them in the first year of the play-offs. Lunch was taken
at a roadside ‘caravan’ somewhere near Thornbury before continuing on the
A38 through Gloucester and Tewksbury. Again, one of two navigational
problems (and I’m blaming road signs this time) meant a few more miles were
done. Not many miles north of Tewksbury came the village of Upton on Severn.
My accommodation for the night was in a village called Kempsey.
